Red Shoes

Thinking about the videos I made featuring various people walking in the same pair of shoes, my Doc Martens, I decided it would be interesting to do the same again but with an increased number of people.

I posted noticed on the CORE year notice board letting people know I was filming in Studio 2 and when went around the studios and let people know myself.
The studio had a plain white wall, which was perfect.

I decided to use high red stilettos, as stilettos are painful/awkward to walk in, exaggerate posture and are considered by some to be of sexual significance. The colour red is of course synonymous with pain as well as extreme emotional states and is to a certain extent allegory..(The film 'The Red Shoes', red shoes in fairytales, 'The Scarlett Letter'...etc.'

I filmed 68 people in total, unfortunately Blogspot is extremely difficult to upload videos to so I'll attempt to use Vimeo and provide a link to the videos.

I used a pair of size 6 shoes for everyone involved..including the men ! The shoes dramatically affected their movement as did being in front of them camera.
