Liquids

Working so frequently in solids, I wanted to branch out and do something with liquid form. Specifically liquid colour, aka. paint. There is something almost sly about liquids, they're less predictable than solids obviously. Don't trust it, I thought I was going to slip on my ass and crack my spine during this.

I fashioned platforms from paint tubes and strapped them to my feet, being very careful that the lids were on before I was ready to walk. I arranged a huge sheet of white paper on the ground to capture the 'aftermath' of my walking.

When I was ready I walked up and back along the paper. The paint spurted out as I walked due to the pressure of my weight, walking itself was very difficult as the paint was slippery and the tubes were a cylindrical shape. I never like that shape really and the paint oozed everywhere, so lucky I didn't get destroyed.

This was all done outside because of the mess it caused and the space needed. Unfortunately being outside meant that the rain affected what I was doing, rain that turned to hail ! I had to race inside and come back out again.

Upon my return, the smooth paper with it's linear paint splatters had been transformed into a crunched and crumpled mass, oozing with colours and splotches. The fucking unpredictability of all this. This itself was very intriguing so I carefully gathered up the pieces and brought them inside to dry.
